Practical Advice for Choosing the Right Leash

Beyond selecting colors and materials, it’s important to choose the appropriate thickness based on your dog’s size and strength.

Rope Diameter Recommendations:

  • 8mm Rope – Recommended for small and toy breeds; lightweight yet strong.
➝ Examples: Poodle, Maltipoo, Maltese, Miniature Dachshund, Chihuahua, Yorkshire Terrier, Mini Spitz, Small Jack Russell, etc.

  • 10mm Rope – Ideal for medium and large breeds; offers greater durability and comfort.
➝ Examples: Golden Retriever, Labrador, Cocker Spaniel, Welsh Corgi, Australian Shepherd, Border Collie, French Bulldog, Beagle, Shiba Inu, etc.

Biothane Thickness Recommendations:

  • 13mm Biothane – Perfect for toy breeds (Chihuahua, Maltese, Mini Spitz, Miniature Dachshund).

  • 16mm Biothane – Suitable for small to medium breeds (Mini Dachshund, Toy Poodle, Jack Russell, Cavalier King Charles Spaniel).

  • 19mm Biothane – Recommended for medium breeds (Border Collie, Cocker Spaniel, Beagle, French Bulldog).

  • 25mm Biothane – Ideal for large breeds requiring extra strength (Labrador, Golden Retriever, Australian Shepherd, Bracco, Weimaraner).

Choosing the Hook
Hardware (hooks, buckles, and accessories) is a key element for your dog’s safety during walks. Each leash is equipped with high-quality hardware, carefully selected based on your dog’s weight and the required breaking strength. This means that the hook you see in photos may differ from the one you receive, as every component is chosen to ensure maximum durability for your specific dog. Not everyone pays attention to this detail, but we consider it essential to provide a secure and suitable choice for every breed.
